My Reporter isn't working!

My Reporter is in battery saving mode

Your Reporter goes into battery saving mode when the internal battery is nearly drained and the device is not being charged anymore.

Please check if:

  • The charger is correctly plugged in and securely fastened to your Reporter.
  • The cable of the power source is undamaged.
  • The power source itself is correctly working and undamaged.

Contact us if you find damage to your power source. Resecure the power source if it has come loose from Reporter or the grid power.

Please keep in mind that it might take up to an hour for a completely drained battery to become responsive again.

My Reporter is offline

There can be multiple reasons for your Reporter to go offline. Please check the following options to determine why your Reporter is offline:

1. No signal

Check on your smartphone whether you have cellular connection at Reporter's location.

Move Reporter to another location that will give a better cellular connection.

Check whether a metal construction or enclosure is obstructing the GSM-signal.

2. No power

Check if the charger is correctly plugged in and securely fastened to your Reporter.

Check if the cable of the power source is undamaged.

Check if the power source itself is correctly working and undamaged.

3. Physical damage to Reporter

Your Reporter may have gone offline due to physical damage to the device. Please check whether your Reporter shown any signs of:

  • Water in the device
  • A cracked or broken casing
  • Melting or burning

My sensor isn't working!

I'm not receiving any measurement data

1. If you have just connected a sensor to your Reporter, it can take up to 15 minutes for the device to register your sensor.

2. If your sensor is still not detected by Reporter, please check the following options related to the wiring:

  • Your sensor's cable has become detached from its adapter or Reporter's connector. Please thoroughly check whether all connections are securely fastened and screwed tight.
  • Your cable has been damaged/cut: between the sensor and the adapter, or between the adapter and Reporter.
  • The cable ends in your adapter have become unconnected. Please check whether the wires inside of the adapter are securely fastened.

The Crodeon Dashboard says my sensor is not connected

"The sensor is currently not detected and not operational"

If you're seeing this message in the Crodeon Dashboard it means that your sensor is currently not connected or being detected. This can have multiple reasons:

  • Your sensor's cable has become detached from its adapter or Reporter's connector. Please thoroughly check whether all connections are securely fastened and screwed tight.
  • Your cable has been damaged/cut: between the sensor and the adapter, or between the adapter and Reporter.
  • The cable ends in your adapter have become unconnected. Please check whether the wires inside of the adapter are securely fastened.

The data I'm receiving is incorrect

When your sensor is online, but the data you're receiving seems wrong, please check the following options:

1. Your sensor has been configured with the wrong sensor template. Please check whether you have chosen the right sensor template in the Crodeon Dashboard.

2. Your sensor has been wired using the incorrect connection diagram. Please check if your sensor has correctly been wired to the sensor adapter.

3. Your sensor has been connected to the wrong sensor adapter. Please note that we sell different kinds of sensor adapters:

  • Digital / Analog Inputs
  • UART / I2C
  • Modbus / RS-485

The bottom of the connection diagram shows what sensor adapter the sensor should be connected to.

4. Your sensor has a preset offset that's skewing your data.

You can adjust or remove your sensor's offset by visiting the Crodeon Dashboard, clicking your Reporter and following these steps:

  1. Go to 'Configure Reporter'.
  2. Scroll down to the sensor you want to change.
  3. Click the three dots in the top right corner of the sensor's channel (not the sensor itself).
  4. Click 'offset calibration'.
  5. Adjust your settings and click 'save'.

My alarms aren't working!

I'm not receiving any alarm notifications

If you're not receiving alarm notifications, there is probably an issue with the configuration.

Is the Reporter alarm enabled?

Reporter can only send alarm notifications if the alarm notifications feature is enabled.

Please follow these steps to check your configuration:

  1. Go to the Crodeon Dashboard
  2. Go to your Reporter
  3. Open the 'Configure Reporter' menu
  4. Click the three vertical dots right of 'Configure Reporter', a menu will appear
  5. Click 'Notification settings'
  6. Check whether the notifications are enabled, if not, enable the notifications
  7. Check your Notification mode, Notification type, and Receiver
  8. Have you selected the right receiver and right kind of alarm?
  9. Make sure everything is configured correctly and click 'SAVE'

Is the sensor alarm enabled?

Reporter can only send alarm notifications if the thresholds of your sensor/parameter are configured.

Please follow these steps to check your configuration:

  1. Go to the Crodeon Dashboard
  2. Go to your Reporter
  3. Open the 'Configure Reporter' menu
  4. Find your relevant sensor
  5. Find the relevant measurement parameter
  6. Click the three vertical dots right of the parameter name, a menu will appear
  7. Click 'Alarm config'
  8. Are your alarm thresholds configured correctly? If not, correct them and click 'SAVE'

Is your contact information correct?

You can only receive an alarm notification if your phone number and/or email address are correct.

Please follow these steps to check your contact information:

  1. Go to the Crodeon Dashboard
  2. Go to 'Profile' in the top right corner, a menu will appear
  3. Click 'Profile' in this menu
  4. Please double check your email address and phone number
  5. If your information is not right, please correct it and click 'SAVE'
