CO2 measurements are important in a vast variety of sectors to monitor health in livestock, observe plant behaviour or research air quality. At Crodeon we took the initiative to improve the way CO2 is measured and monitored. Meet our digital CO2 sensor that uses the reliable Sensirion SCD41 chip, introducing trusted measuring excellence to plug & play remote monitoring hardware.
This CO2 sensor offers the perfect mix of quality and affordability, making it perfect for professional use. It measures CO2 (carbon dioxide) as well as temperature and relative humidity. The sensor is plug & play compatible with our IoT sensor device called Reporter, making the installation a piece of cake.
CO2 measuring is unreliable without proper pre-calibration, which is why we take care of this so you don't have to.
Crodeon Cloud
At Crodeon we developed Reporter, a sensor module that makes remote monitoring accessible to everyone. Reporter has four sensor connectors to attach sensors to, like the CO2 sensor for example. When connected, Reporter will log all data measurements and stream them to the cloud (Crodeon Dashboard) where you can view your live and historical data. The Dashboard is also the place to be to change alarm settings and other Reporter settings such as measurement interval.
The Crodeon Dashboard is a web application that runs in your browser of choice: on your pc, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Reporter does not need a WiFi connection as it uses the cellular data network through its built-in SIM card.
CO2 sensor with API
Reporter comes with a built-in rest API that you can connect to your own software or other third-party software for easy data integration.
Where to use the CO2 sensor?
This carbon dioxide sensor is often used for the following projects:
Other options include monitoring CO2 in buildings for human health purposes.
Installation of the CO2 sensor
The SCD41 is built into a vented enclosure in order to allow optimal air circulation. When installing the sensor in an outdoor environment, please mount the sensor with the ventilation holes directed to the sides. The CO2 sensor is not waterproof. If you still want to use the sensor outdoors you will have to take special precautions to protect it against rain. Appropriate protection include a rain shield or weather cover.
The sensor is connected to your Reporter with the included M12 extension cord. Additional extension cords can be purchased in the Crodeon shop. The maximum cable length between the sensor and Reporter is 30m.
We solve the complexity for you
Measuring CO2 is a challenging endeavour. Crodeon aims to help customers in this process by using quality hardware, following the manufacturer' technical instructions and translating these requirements into understandable guidelines for the end user.
The Crodeon CO2 sensor uses the Sensirion SCD41 module for measuring CO2, temperature and humidity. This photoacoustic NDIR sensor requires no manual maintenance by the user, another huge time saver.
Pre-calibrated for your convenience
During the manufacturing of your CO2 sensor, Crodeon performs the FRC calibration algorithm as instructed by Sensirion. This calibration process involves the following steps:
The sensor is placed in a controlled setting with stable environmental conditions.
The sensor is powered in continuous mode at a measurement rate of two seconds for a full duration of ten minutes.
The FRC command is applied and the reference value is stored in the sensor memory.
All Crodeon sensors are plug & play compatible with your Reporter. Browse our shop and select the sensors, accessories and Reporters of your choice, or choose one of the pre-composed kits that match your needs.
Reporter® requires a subscription of €180 /year to operate. Add this package to your cart when checking out. The subscription covers things like connectivity and use of the Crodeon Dashboard. Kits already include a 1 year subscription. Contact us if you only need the sensors without connectivity.
