Sometimes neither grid power nor a solar panel are compatible with your remote monitoring project. In such cases, a DIN rail power supply can be a solution to your problem. This power module converts 9-36VDC to 15V, making it a perfect match to power your Reporter sensor device.
The charging module comes with a 2m open end to M12 cable to easily connect to your Reporter's charging port.
Vehicles: remote monitoring in a cold transport van or truck can require a Reporter power charger that is neither grid power nor solar power. Oftentimes, a DIN rail module is compatible with structures already available inside the van.
Industrial environments: in industrial settings where DIN rail is readily available it might be easier to install a DIN rail power supply than to look for a power socket.
Construction sites: a DIN rail enclosure might be available on your construction site. DIN rail power supply could be preferable to a solar panel, as the latter won't allow you to monitor power supply at your construction site.
Dewatering sites: similar to general construction sites, a dewatering site would probably have plenty of DIN rail on hand. Creating a power socket would mean unnecessary hassle. Again, a solar panel would not allow for power supply monitoring.
Can this DIN rail power supply be used outdoors unprotected?
No, this module is not waterproof and cannot be exposed to rain. Your DIN rail enclosure needs to be waterproof to protect the tech inside.
