The pyranometer by Spectrum Technologies measures solar radiation in watt per m2. Solar irradiance measurement can be vastly useful in agricultural projects when it comes to calculating evaporation, or in industrial projects involving monitoring of photovoltaic panels. The light sensor measures solar radiation between 300 and 1100 nanometers.
This solar radiation sensor connects to our sensor module Reporter through easy plug & play installation.
Reporter streams all measurement data to the Crodeon Dashboard (cloud) in realtime, allowing you to view your live data whenever you want. Historical data is logged and can be downloaded through an Excel export. Settings like measurement interval and alarm configuration can be adjusted on the Dashboard.
Pyranometer with API
When connected to Reporter the pyranometer becomes API accessible, making it effortless to integrate the sensor data into your own software or systems.
Installation instructions
The solar radiation sensor can be placed above or within plant canopies, as well as in growth rooms and greenhouses or near photovoltaic installations. Install the sensor so that it is level. Once the sensor is mounted, use the adjustment screws to level the sensor so the bubble is centered on the level indicator. Mount the sensor on a mast or pipe using the u-bolt provided. Position the sensor in an appropriate area that monitors the solar conditions.
Make sure the light sensor is not being shadowed or blocked by another external sensor. Inspect the pyranometer frequently to make certain the sensor is still level and clear of obstructions.
All Crodeon sensors are plug & play compatible with your Reporter. Browse our shop and select the sensors, accessories and Reporters of your choice, or choose one of the pre-composed kits that match your needs.
Reporter® requires a subscription of €180 /year to operate. Add this package to your cart when checking out. The subscription covers things like connectivity and use of the Crodeon Dashboard. Kits already include a 1 year subscription. Contact us if you only need the sensors without connectivity.
