Effortlessly measure and monitor level with KROHNE's OPTIWAVE 15xx series, the perfect compact sensor for reliable 80 GHz radar technology in combination with HART and Bluetooth. Now compatible with Reporter for easy plug & play remote monitoring.
This radar level sensor can be used for both liquids and solids, making it the perfect solution for professional measuring and as a warning system.
OPTIWAVE 1520 is particularly suitable for use in confined spaces and in open-air applications: sewage sludge, wastewater and treated water, small silos with granulate solids such as sand or for small tanks. The sensor has a measuring range of 0...10 m and offers a measuring accuracy of ±5 mm.
OPTIWAVE 1540 can be used as a level and flow transmitter, is resistant to many chemicals and contaminated liquids and offers cost-effective non-contact level measurement in mobile containers (IBC tanks), in chemical tanks (up to 5 bar), in (waste)water applications and in granulate solids silos. The sensor has a measuring range of 0...15 m and offers a measuring accuracy of ±2 mm. It also measures through the roof of closed tanks and containers made of non-conductive materials. It carries out reliable level and flow measurements in open channels, combined sewer overflows, canals, and rivers.
The sensor pictured has a threaded socket, which is model NPT or G.
Crodeon Cloud
This radar level transmitter for professional use now seamlessly connects to Reporter, our plug & play sensor device. Reporter is an IoT sensor module that streams its data to the cloud in realtime using the cellular data network (2G/4G). The cloud platform called the Crodeon Dashboard is where all data can be viewed (live or historical). Historical data logs can be downloaded through an Excel export (csv file).
Reporter has no buttons as all settings are personalisable on the Crodeon Dashboard, think alarm notifications, measurement intervals, etc.
Radar level transmitter with API
Every Reporter comes with a REST API. This allows you to seamlessly integrate your measurement data into your own or third-party software for realtime data use.
Where to use the radar level transmitter?
Due to the high IP value this sensor can be used in a vast variety of situations to measure the level of liquids and solids.
As the OPTIWAVE radar level transmitter has a higher power consumption, it is impossible to use the sensor on a solar-powered installation, therefore the location you're measuring at should have access to grid power for continuous power supply.
KROHNE, made compatible by Crodeon
At Crodeon we trust in industry-leading technology, which is why we bundle our strengths with existing sensor manufacturers like KROHNE. Thanks to our sensor adapter, almost any sensor can be made compatible with Reporter. This sensor uses the 4-20 mA Adapter.
This sensor emits a continuous radar signal through the antenna. The emitted signal is reflected by the medium and received as an echo by the antenna. The frequency difference between the emitted and received signal is proportional to the distance and depends on the filling height.
